「Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands-all that you can hold.」Luke 6:38
One day, God told us to join Short-term Mission Team to America, one of our church's overseas Mission programs. So, we started praying and asked for the necessary expenses needed for the trip. Eventually, the Lord confirmed His own words spoken through Luke's Gospel as above and supplied everything we needed through very unique way. We saw His Glory revealed through the incident.
It happened around three months before the American mission.
When the offering time came during one Sunday church worship, I looked
into my purse and almost jumped from the chair. There I found a piece of
5000 yen note and few coins. If I offer 5000 yen note then alomost no money
would be left with me! I remembered that I exchanged five 1000 yen notes
for a 5000 yen note to help a friend just before the worship started. I
was so sorry and regretted the silly thing I have done. Then various worries
came into my mind. There were bills to be paid. We must pay for today's
transportation, for our lunch and dinner. In spite of my worries in my
mind, offertory bag finally came around to me.
But the Holy Spirit whispered to me saying. "Offer the note for my sake. Then,I will richly bless you."
My human mind wanted not to admit these words as the words from God but my spirit, on the other hand, believed surely that they were. So, I had no choice but to offer the last bank note I owned.
However, strange things began to happen around me since then.
We saw all kinds of food being offered to us at the time when I felt I should go for shopping. At first noodles were sent to us, then fruits, ham, vegetables, jam, rice, pickles, cookies, chocolates, crackers,tea, etc.,etc. I could always received at the best timing conceivable.
I received all of those, heartily thanking and praising God! My refrigerator became full with foods.
Next, travel expenses to and from America were given. Answering to our prayer, air fares for two of us were also given. As we thanked Him and continued our prayer asking for other necessary expenses, accomodation and other living expenses were given.
And almost all of our necessary fund were thus supplied.
Furthermore, after the Sunday worship time, two days before the departure to America, one church member pushed into my pocket several ten thousand yen notes.
Praise the Lord! All of our needs were fully supplied.
Thus, we could join the overseas-mission, through which we received so many blessings and lessons.
As the Scriptures told, people gave us full measure, a generous helping, poured into our hands-all that we can hold.
The Lord told me that all of these thing were the blessing promised to me when I offered the money. What I did at that time, obeying His words, was really a small thing indeed, but the Lord, with His own glory, richly blessed me in a big way.
All the glory and the honor be with Christ Jesus, our Lord and Saviour whom we love heart and soul!
