One midnight in June 2009, my husband had an acute severe pain in the stomach. I headed to the emergency hospital with him.
It seems to me to have taken so long to get to the hospital which was three stations away from home. While I saw him endure a severe pain, all I was able to do was to pray for him.
He was sweating due to a pain. I thought: “What should I do? We don’t have medical insurances. It would be extremely expensive if he was operated on for appendicitis or something and hospitalized; I thought about money at the back of my mind.
It seemed that my husband thought he might be dying and that he began to reconfirm with me the place of our valuables, etc., which made me realize that we were in a disaster.
I couldn’t help but give thanks in this situation, as the scripture of I Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Give thanks in every circumstance.”
We arrived at the hospital and went to the reception desk. The receptionist looked like taking extra long time for our procedure maybe because we had no insurance.
In that situation I felt more strongly that all I could rely on right now was God.
While my husband had an acute pain but was not treated right away, I relied on God and continued to pray to Him.
At last he was done with a reception procedure; he had his blood pressure checked by a nurse and was put on a ward trolley; and waited for examination near a team of doctors.
I laid my hand on my husband and prayed seriously with all my heart: “Please free him from the acute pain in the name of Jesus”.
Then, a pain stopped! My husband was dumbfounded and said with a look of amazement, “Oh, it stopped!!” God answers prayer and is faithful; He manifested His glory.
After that, he was put on a drip and returned home. It was a kidney stone. Then I began to pray so that the stone would get out of him.
At one Sunday worship service about one week later, all the members of the church prayed for my husband and I also had the pastor pray for his healing.
During the night of the same day, I sent the pastor a joyful email saying, “the stone has come out!” It was a jagged kidney stone of around 5 millimeters in size that came out!
Hallelujah, the Lord is alive; I give thanks to Him for the healing.
